Frequently Asked Questions

  • All costs are included in the massage price you see posted on the services and booking pages. That includes any travel costs, sales taxes, extras like cupping, hair oil, etc. The massage you receive is intended to be exactly what your body needs to heal -- so we don't see any reason to jack up the price just because you could use a little cupping added.

The price you see is the only price you pay; we like to keep it simple around here!

  • Trauma-informed massage refers to an approach in massage therapy that recognizes and respects the prevalence and impact of trauma on individuals' physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

In a trauma-informed massage practice, therapists are trained to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for clients who may have experienced trauma. This approach involves understanding how past experiences may influence a person's response to touch and ensuring that massage sessions are conducted with sensitivity, compassion, and awareness of potential triggers.

Overall, trauma-informed massage aims to create a healing space where clients feel respected, supported, and able to engage in the therapeutic process at their own pace and comfort level.

  • While tips are much appreciated and accepted; we do not want any of our clients to feel as though they can’t get a much needed massage simply because they do not have extra money for a tip.

  • We will meet you at any relaxation space you would like. See available service areas on the ‘book appointment’ tab. We bring the table, you choose the space.

  • Of course not! Your natural self is perfectly acceptable to receive massage. Body hair will not be judged or even paid attention to. We all have hair, stretch marks, cellulite, moles, scars, etc., so don’t worry about it!

  • Whatever you are most comfortable with. Sometimes people keep a T-shirt and shorts on when getting a massage. When your massage therapists says “dress down to your comfort level” they really mean to whatever level you are comfortable with. You may keep on as much clothing as you are comfortable with. All cues and levels of comfort are dictated by the client. You will be draped the same way regardless of how much clothing you decide to wear.

  • Your massage therapist will take your cues on how much you’d like to talk. The default is to refrain from talking as much as possible so that the client can relax fully into their session. But we also love to chat. We will follow your lead!

  • It is best to exercise before your massage rather than after. Remember that deep tissue massages can be intense for the body even if they don’t feel wildly intense. Try not to exhaust yourself on the day of the massage, but workouts prior to the massage are safer for you.

  • For the safety of all involved please tell your massage therapist if you are trying to get pregnant or have become pregnant. For the safety of all involved you must inform us so that we can adjust the treatment accordingly.

  • Every piece of equipment is disinfected after every client. If you would like your therapist to wear a mask while your home please let us know.

  • Yes! Underneath the ‘book appointment’ tab there is a spot to choose a digital gift card. You will need the email of the recipient of the gift card.

If you want it to be a surprise:

Type in your own email, print out the gift card that gets sent to you, and give that printed out version to your gift recipient.

  • The short answer is no. There are laws around gifts that can be taken from a professional relationship with varied power dynamics. If you want to give your massage therapist a gift, just tip them and tell them which gift you wanted to buy for them. They may take that tip and purchase the intended gift or they may not. Tips are the only appropriate gifts that can be given, even around the holidays.

  • Sunburns cannot be massaged directly. If your entire body is sunburned you may want to reschedule your appointment. If only a part of your body is sunburned then we can avoid the area until next time.
